The Helmet of Salvation

Good Shepherd’s Annual Picnic

This summer has been a hot one, and August 6 was no exception.  Fortunately, the cabin at Harmon Field was blissfully cool—well, once we figured out how the air conditioner worked!— and parishioners from Good Shepherd and Holy Cross came together in celebration.  The food was, as always, perfectly matched to the occasion, with chicken, hot dogs, hamburgers and a virtual trove of homemade goodies. Inside, we met and mingled, while on the deck our chefs grilled and were grilled in turn.
We were especially pleased to meet Fr. Robert Ard, the new rector at Holy Cross, as well as many other new and familiar faces from his church.  It can truly be said that a good time was had by all.
